What is this program?

Welcome to RoboWars, a challenging programming game for software developers. Design killer robots in C or C++ and fight them against other people's robots!

RoboWars is a game where players build teams of robots that are then competed against each other. The game is ended when only robots from one team are left alive. That team is then the winner!

RoboWars is a programming game. Players write their robots as Windows DLLs in C or C++ (Win32 only, NT or Win95). A standard C DLL interface is defined that lets players have access to the game environment.

What does it run on?

This program requires Windows 95 or Windows NT. It will take 2 megabytes to install.

How do I install it?

  • Save the zip file in the link at the bottom of this page.
  • Unzip the file into a temporary directory.
  • Run 'setup.exe', and follow the instructions in the installation.
  • You may delete the files unzipped into the temporary directory when you are done installing RoboWars.
  • Read the installed 'readme.txt' file for information on the program.
  • To run the program, choose the RoboWars' icon from the Start Menu.

How do I get rid of it after it is installed?

Choose 'Add/Remove programs' in the control panel, and select 'RoboWars'.

Is it free?

This Beta copy of the RoboWars is free. You may download this software and use it, but you may not distribute any portion of this program.
